As we evolve and integrate efforts across our manufacturing and retail divisions, we seek a Collections Specialist to manage accounts receivable and ensure efficient collections across both subsidiaries.
Skills and Qualifications
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables, with experience in ERP systems like NetSuite preferred.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable and reconciliation processes.
• Knowledge of debt collection laws.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
Experience
• 2-4 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related field.
• Experience in the builder, retail, or manufacturing sectors is a plus.
• Familiarity with lien rights and procedures is a plus!
The Collections Specialist will manage customer accounts and ensure timely collections by maintaining positive customer relationships, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with internal teams. You will work closely with sales, customer service, and accounting to streamline processes, address discrepancies, and enforce collection policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and addressing overdue accounts.
• Engage positively with customers to negotiate payment plans, resolve billing disputes, and process refunds, credit memos, or account adjustments as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of communication and collection efforts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Provide regular updates to management on unpaid accounts and collection progress, escalating situations when appropriate.
• Accurately apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies between invoices and payments, coordinating with the cash application team to resolve misapplications or unallocated funds.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and customer service teams to streamline processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
This position is on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Duluth GA
The pay range is $24-26 hr
