Entry Level Staff Accountant details:
Rate: $28 - $30
Business Casual Dress Code.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a one-hour lunch that they must take between 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Staff Accountant maintains general ledgers, reconciles accounts, and
prepares financial reports (balance sheets, P&L) to ensure compliance
with GAAP. They handle daily accounting functions like AP/AR,
month-end closing, and tax filings. This role requires strong Excel
skills, attention to detail, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting.
Core Responsibilities
General Ledger & Reporting: Maintain the general ledger, prepare
monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general
ledger accounts monthly.
Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end/year-end closing process,
including journal entries, accruals, and fixed asset depreciation.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Code invoices, verify deposits, and
manage AR collections.
Compliance & Audit: Ensure financial transactions comply with GAAP,
assist with tax filings (federal/state/local), and provide
documentation for audits.
Analysis: Analyze financial information to identify trends, variances,
and opportunities for cost reduction.
Key Skills and Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (This is a MUST.)
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced
Microsoft Excel capabilities.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP).
Abilities: Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management
skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and consistency are a must. Also integrity and honesty.
Experience Level
At least 1 year of experience in Accounting.
